By | Editorial | No Comments

Manchester based fashion community, The Fashion Network took the time to come and speak to us over at our Sample Sale last week. See what they had to say below:

“Last week we met with Manchester based brand Cortica to talk all things A/W as they met with Native Youth at Cottonopolis for a Sample Sale.

Founded in 2013, Cortica was born out of the need to create thoughtfully designed, clean and innovative footwear. They felt that progressive vision for Cortica would resonate with a customer who embraced both the future and the past. The brand was developed in England with a rich British design heritage at its heart, combined with inspiration gathered from Global design aesthetics. The brands promise is to create beautiful, aspirational products that break conventions. The result is a meticulously crafted product that stands out as completely unique.

The Autumn Winter concept is influenced by the ever changing needs of the Cortica customer, with this seasons focus being on durable updates for the Winter season. The result is a tech inspired collection, featuring the notorious contemporary and minimal design details that has supported our success to date. They strive to create something unique and this season is no different, with the notion of drop 2 being always moving forward and moving up.”

The ASCENT Collection For Autumn/ Winter

By | Campaigns | No Comments

Moving forward and moving up for the season ahead.

Our Autumn Winter concept is influenced by the ever changing needs of the Cortica customer, with this seasons focus being on durable updates for the Winter season. The result is a tech inspired collection, featuring the notorious contemporary and minimal design details that has supported our success to date. We strive to create something unique and this season is no different, with the notion of drop 2 being always moving forward and moving up.

This collection sees the introduction of our KPU fabrication, utilising modern techniques of rubber compounds injected directly onto fine mesh to create a material that combines flexibility and utility. The technique took much refinement by our development team to synergise within the designs, producing essential winterised water resistance and high abrasion quality to the uppers. Our Rapide and Infinity models have been updated from the previous season, utilising the best of a traditional running shoe shape with a directional contemporary aesthetic. Athletic style with energy return functionality built in. The updated seasonal colour palette combines autumnal hues alongside reimagined deconstructed silhouettes for a look that is uniquely Cortica.

EDITORIAL: Pause Mag Features The Ascent Collection

By | Editorial | No Comments

Pause Online have picked up the latest campaign from us here at Cortica and featured it over on their feed. See what they said below:

Drop 2 of the AW17 collection, aptly named Ascent, moves with the changes of the season; quite literally from Autumn to Winter.  This is demonstrated with more technical fabrications and styling to cope with the colder weather and the change of terrain it brings.

The designs are clean, sleek, wearable and most importantly, can be moulded to suit your ever-changing fashion looks.  Whether it be that you are a jogging bottoms kinda guy, or a more of a tailored trouser type, the Cortica design can be worked with for your preferred style.

The facts?  Well the design team worked hard at creating a product which is not only flexible (comfortable), but also water resistant (much needed in the UK).  In addition, the running shoe shape means they can be worn for sports purposes as well as for fashion.

For it’s 2017 fall/winter collection, Cortica has put together a contemporary, comfortable, and unconventional series that is inspired by the notion of “Always Moving.” Featuring lightweight, clean, and minimalistic designs, the classic Infinity silhouette has been revamped with the addition of a heat moulded TPU heel counter. The sneakers will also have a variety of autumnal hues and urban camouflage prints. The “247” collection also sees an addition of a clean and flexible EVA midsole on the Intuous model. The newest City Hybrid silhouette comes with a newly developed, contoured cup sole, and will also be introduced in three earthy colorways.

Cortica’s first drop of its 2017 fall/winter is available now at Cortica’s online store.
